ESTANCIA 25 DE MAYO - AFTERNOON WITH DINNER

Estancia 25 de Mayo has 17,000 hectares of land, and its historic center is located just a few steps from the center of El Calafate, an ideal place where you can rest and enjoy the landscape at the foot of Cerro Calafate, breathing the purest Patagonian air. A fascinating tour of local history and life. We left the hotel in El Calafate towards Estancia 25 de Mayo. Upon arrival we are welcomed with traditional mate, Argentine fried pies and carretero coffee. After this warm welcome we watched a demonstration of the sheep herding technique with dogs, widely used in the region. We then visited an old warehouse where there are sheep pens and a space for shearing. We visited the space and watched a sheep shearing demonstration, a very important activity, especially before the start of winter. We then started a short walk along the “Arroyo Calafate” trail. On this walk we can appreciate the beauty of the space where the resort is located and learn about its history and flora. At the end of the trail we arrive at the magnificent Arroyo viewpoint, where we drink mulled wine and enjoy a lamb tasting. After this break, we visited the organic garden and the first buildings of the ranch, watched a video about the pioneer families and then went to the “El Quincho” restaurant where we enjoyed the most traditional Patagonian dinner. We watched the folk show by local artists, where they performed typical Argentine dances.

DINNER SHOW at El Quincho (for passengers with dinner included): Welcome appetizer, Creole empanada, grilled lamb and other cuts with side dishes, and dessert. Return to El Calafate.
