Destaques
With the High Mountains excursion we will leave the Mendocino oasis to enter the Andes region. We will learn about the different mountain ranges that make up the Andes and visit the Dique Potrerillos, Uspallata, Puente del Inca (protected area declared a Natural Monument) and the Aconcagua Provincial Park. It depends on the season and if the road conditions allow us to meet Christ the Redeemer, located at 4200 meters above sea level. Spend the day in the Andes and enjoy the breathtaking views of Aconcagua, the highest peak in America. The tour begins on the paths of Tierra de Villavicencio from where we can enjoy incredible views of the highest peaks of the Andes. When we reach the Uspallata valley, we will have our first stop in the locality of the same name in the place that settled in the Huarpes during the pre-Hispanic era. We soak up the Andean landscape and enjoy an aperitif. We continue to Polvaredas and Punta de Vacas where the best ski resort in Mendoza is located: Los Penitentes. Take advantage of the opportunity to take photos before reaching the Puente del Inca, a natural arch located 2720 meters above the sea level, formed by those rising from the Las Cuevas river that eroded the slope. We admire the remolinos of colored rocks and the views of the mountain from El Puente. We traveled to the front with Chile and enjoyed the ever higher mountains. We will make another stop at a natural viewpoint to admire the views of the magnificent Aconcagua, the biggest hill in the hemispheres on the west and at 6960 meters of altitude. From November to April it is possible to access the Aconcagua Provincial Park and hike up to the lagoon de los Horcones (this activity is optional and the entrance fee to the park is not included). Afterwards, we will continue to Las Cuevas pueblo to enjoy free time and have lunch if you want. Returning, we will travel along the famous Route 7 to tu hotel in Mendoza..
